N'Mya Pierce of the women's basketball team was named as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by St. Augustine Inn, for the month of January.

She received the athlete of the week honor on Jan. 11.

(from the Jan. 11 release) The senior from West Palm Beach, Florida scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Flagler's 89-76 win over Francis Marion University last Wednesday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium. Pierce made 8-of-12 from the field and tallied two assists to go along with two steals.
