N'Mya Pierce of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 12.

Pierce led the Saints with 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week. She also made 68.8 percent (11-16) of her shots from the field. This past Saturday, Pierce recorded her second double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds in a 64-58 win over Georgia Southwestern. She made 7-of-10 from the free throw line en route to 11 points in a 66-58 victory over UNC Pembroke.

Pierce leads the Saints in scoring with an 11.1 points per game average. She is second in rebounding (5.7). Pierce is seventh in the PBC in field goal percentage (53.7) and is 10th in free throws made (34).
