Damerit Brown of the men's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 7.

The Ocoee, Florida native averaged a team-high 23.5 points per game last week. He made a team-high eight 3-pointers and shot 47.1 percent from behind the arc. Brown also made 54.5 percent (18-33) of his field goal attempts. His 12 rebounds were second on the team. Brown scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the second half at Lander on Saturday.  

Brown is second in the Peach Belt Conference in 3-pointers made (36), fourth in points per game (18.0), and fifth in free throw percentage (86.1).
