Donna Munafo of the softball team was selected as the Student-Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Augustine, for the month of May.

Munafo posted a 4-2 record in the month of May and helped pitch Flagler to the Savannah Regional title and a win in the Super Regional at North Georgia. The Saints made their first-ever appearance at the national championships in Louisville. She made six starts and tossed 38.1 innings. Munafo fanned 19 batters and walked only six.

In the first two games of the Savannah Regional, she tossed 15 scoreless innings against nationally ranked Armstrong and Lenoir-Rhyne.

For the season, Munafo went 20-7 and recorded a 1.22 earned run average. She broke the school record for shutouts in a season with nine, which is the new career record as well. Munafo fanned 149 batters in 177.1 innings.
