VIERA, Fla. − On the final day of the 54-hole Panther Invitational at the Duran Golf Club, Flagler College shaved three shots of its score with a 302, but the Saints fell three spots and finished ninth overall with a 931 Tuesday afternoon. Florida Gulf Coast University placed first with 892 strokes, winning by two over the host school, Florida Tech. Florida Tech’s David D’Agostino earned medalist honors with a 1-over 217 holding off Brevard Community College’s Devin Spies who shot a 2-over 218 including a tournament round low of 5-under 67 in the last round.
Ian Hoffman (New Smyrna Beach, Fla.) who had his first round score of 73 disqualified finished the tournament with a 75 today. His second round score of 76 stood. Dustin Funari (Homestead, Fla.) and Brad Barfield (Bryceville, Fla.) each finished with a three-round total of 232, good for a tie for 32nd place. Both shot a 5-over 77 this afternoon. Erik Downs (West Palm Beach, Fla.) carded the best score for the Saints on the day, a 1-over 73, and finished with a 235. Curtis Coetzee (Forth Worth, Texas) rounded out the scorers for Flagler with a 242.
Flagler College will head to Jacksonville Beach for the North-South Intercollegiate Mar. 11-13.
