Sherri hails from Keystone Heights, Florida, bringing a touch of hometown pride to her illustrious journey. Sherri's connection with Flagler Athletics traces back to her years as a student-athlete from 1978 to 1982. A basketball and softball player on scholarship, Sherri's impact was monumental, contributing to the state championship in basketball during the 1978-79 season. Her dedication didn't end there; she later transitioned into coaching, leading the softball team for seven years and basketball for two. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Sherri was inducted into the Flagler College Hall of Fame in 2011, solidifying her place among the college's athletic legends. Sherri continued her involvement by joining the Saints Advisory Board in 2012.

Sherri's professional journey started as a Physical Education teacher in St. Johns County in 1982, she taught at all three levels—elementary, middle, and high school—until 1995. Subsequently, she took on the role of the Dean of Students at Landrum Middle School, where she served until 2024.

Beyond the classroom, Sherri's coaching prowess shines through her impressive 39-year tenure coaching basketball at Nease High School, where she recently celebrated her 700th win. Notably, she led her team to victory in the 1998-99 5A State Championship in girls' basketball.


Sherri Anthony values the sense of team family and community support in Flagler Athletics, finding camaraderie both on and off the field impactful. Her achievements extend beyond athletics, including Teacher of the Year (2008-09), National High School Coach of the Year (2019), FABC Hall of Fame and Beaches Legend induction, and recognition as one of Flagler College's Distinguished Alumni. Further, she achieved National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame induction in 2020 and received the Flagler College Professional Achievement Award in 2023.
