Ken Russon, a proud native of St. Augustine, considers the historic town his hometown. With a distinguished career spanning both military service and financial leadership in academia, Mr. Russon has left an indelible mark on his community. Mr. Russon served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1991. His dedication and service included a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. His military background instilled in him values of discipline, integrity, and commitment, qualities that he carried into his subsequent professional endeavors. From 1995 to 2014, Mr. Russon served as the Chief Financial Officer at Flagler College, where his financial acumen and strategic leadership played a pivotal role in the institution's success. 

One of Mr. Russon's great passions is Flagler College Athletics. During his 19-year tenure as CFO, he witnessed and appreciated the high standards and quality of leadership within the department. He particularly admires the commitment to excellence set by the Athletic Director, “who consistently establishes lofty goals for the departmen”. The dedication to achieving these high standards is something Mr. Russon finds both impressive and inspiring.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Russon remains actively engaged in his community. He generously supports his local church and participates in various civic organizations, and is involved with the Military Officers’ Association. A man of unique achievements, Mr. Russon's athletic prowess is showcased by his time playing football at Florida State University from 1959 to 1962. Notably, he played in the historic first FSU vs UF game that did not end in a loss, with the final score being 3-3 in 1961.
