John Jordan begins his 21st year at Flagler College as the director of sports information.
Jordan oversees all media relations regarding Flagler athletics. In his time at Flagler, he has helped launch the school’s athletic web site,
www.flaglerathletics.com, as well as the department's Facebook and Twitter pages. Jordan has also helped cover the Peach Belt Conference men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf, volleyball, baseball, men's basketball, softball and men's lacrosse championships. In the spring of 2023 and 2024, he helped host the Gulf South Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship.
He sat on the board which selects the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America® district teams and now serves in a publicity role for two sports for the Academic-All-America® program. Jordan was the coordinator of the Daktronics Women's Soccer All-Southeast Region teams and serves on the NCBWA Southeast Region ranking committee. Jordan is a member of the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) for women's golf. He served as the chair of the Peach Belt Conference sports information directors (2019-22).
Prior to his arrival at Flagler, Jordan served two years as the sports information at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. While at PBA, he was the primary contact for all 12 sports and helped initiate the graphic standards policy for the athletic department. Jordan served as the host SID at the National Christian College Athletic Association’s Volleyball Championships in 2004.
Jordan also served as the interim sports information director at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He served as the primary contact for all 30 sports at the NCAA Division III school. Jordan helped promote all the sports and was able to get a highlight segment of Bates running back Sean Atkins on ESPN as part of its “Hidden Video” feature at the halftime of its Thursday night national broadcast. He also served as the host SID for the Division III New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2003.
Jordan’s first head sports information director position was at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. He served as the primary contact for its nationally renowned baseball program as well as the other 11 sports. From 2001 to 2002, Jordan was the media relations director for the Avista NAIA World Series held at Lewis-Clark State. He served as the host SID for the 2000 NAIA Region I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships and the 2001 Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Jordan has also worked at the 1999 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in Orlando, Florida as well as the 2001 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship West Regional in Spokane, Washington.
Jordan also had stints as an assistant SID at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut (1999-2000) and at Florida Tech in Melbourne (1997-99).
Jordan received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine in 1995.
