Mr. Riggs was born and raised in Sheffield, Illinois, a quaint farming community in north-central Illinois with a population of 850, Mr. Riggs remains grounded in his roots while contributing to the success and vibrancy of Flagler Athletics. Mr. Riggs’ journey with Flagler began in the mid-1980s when he started attending basketball games shortly after relocating from Illinois. Over the years, his involvement and passion for the sports programs led to an invitation to join the FSAB in 2022. A seasoned professional in financial and operations management, Mr. Riggs dedicated his career to multiple manufacturing companies before embarking on a well-deserved retirement. What Mr. Riggs enjoys most about Flagler Athletics is the thrill of competition across various sports programs. His love for attending games extends beyond Flagler to local high schools, where he finds joy in witnessing young athletes evolve into leaders within their communities. In his leisuretime, he indulges in reading books and blogs that delve into the realms of technology and physics. Originating from a blue-collar family in the Midwest, Mr. Riggs initially had no plans for college. However, with encouragement from teachers and friends, he took a different path that ultimately altered the course of his life. His commitment to education and achievement was recognized in 2022 when he was selected to the College of Business Hall of Fame at Illinois State University. Mr. Riggs and his spouse, Deb, are proud members of the 1857 Society at Illinois State University.
