Dr. Allen Bohl

Mr. Bohl is a native of Vermilion, Ohio, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1970. Subsequently, he completed a master’s in education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1973 and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1978.

For several years, he taught at Flagler College, establishing connections with esteemed figures such as President Abare, President Joyner, AD Jud Damon, and Assistant AD Joey Wiles. “Their exceptional character and integrity left a lasting impression on me,” he said.

With an extensive career in athletic administration, he began as an Assistant Athletic Director at Ohio State. He then transitioned to the University of Toledo, Fresno State , and later on to the University of Kansas, providing leadership for athletic programs nationwide for nearly 25 years as an Athletic Director. His favorite part about Flagler Athletics is the joy of interacting with student-athletes, both on and off the playing fields or courts. Mr. Bohl has received several accomplishments.
  • He was inducted into the Vermilion (Ohio) High School Hall of Fame in 2006.
  • Honored as a member of the Erie County (Ohio) Gallery of Achievers in 2007.
  • Inducted into the Bowling Green State University Rugby Hall of Fame in 2008.
  • Author of two novels, "Back Porch Swing" and "Getting to Thanksgiving."
