Coaching at Flagler
Skylar Lopas completed his third season as the head women's volleyball after being hired on April 25, 2022.

He coached the Saints to their eighth Peach Belt Conference Tournament title and the program's 12th NCAA Division II Southeast Regional appearance in 2024. Flagler finished with a 15-11 overall record and finished in second place in the PBC with a 5-3 record. Lopas coached three players (Jordan Berglin, Molly Boyd, and Clare Sheedy) to AVCA honorable mention All-America honors and the same trio took home all-conference accolades. Berglin, Cassidy Bloom, and Colby Stempkowski earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.

In his second season with the Saints, Lopas led a pair of players to All-PBC honors as Jordan Berglin and Molly Boyd were named to the first team.

In his first year at the helm of the Flagler program, he coached the Saints to a winning record (20-10) and 9-5 in the conference season. He led the program to a PBC tournament championship. The Saints made an appearance in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional final, after defeating Carson-Newman (Nov. 18) and Augusta (Nov. 19). Jordan Berglin and Logan Garcia earned all-conference honors, and Kennedy Muff earned the Peach Belt Conference Setter of the Year during the 2022 campaign. Muff and Berglin went on to earn all-region honors and Muff went on to be named PBC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year during his first season.

Prior to Flagler
Lopas served the last three seasons on the coaching staff at NCAA Division I power University of Florida. He joined the Florida coaching staff in 2019. In his three seasons on the Gators staff, the team posted a 70-18 record. Florida made three NCAA Division I National Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight (2020) and two Sweet 16 berths. He was responsible for middle blocker development and positional development. Lopas coached middle blockers Lauren Forte and Thayer Hall to AVCA All-America honors and another middle blocker, Bre Kelly, to a Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team accolade this past fall. Forte was amongst most efficient hitters in not only the SEC, but in the nation, with percentages of .400 or better. Lauren Dooley led the SEC in blocks per set (1.40) in 2020.

Prior to his time in Gainesville, Lopas was an assistant coach at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville for four seasons (2016-19). He helped sign a trio of Atlantic-Sun Conference Freshmen of the Year in Gabby O'Connell, Solimar Cestero, and Annie Antar. Lopas consistently had middle blockers rank at or near the top of the league in blocks per set. From 2014-16, Lopas was on the staff at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He helped the Wolverines earn a NCAA Tournament berth in 2015 and had a middle blocker, Abby Cole, receive AVCA All-America honors in 2015.

Lopas has been active on the club circuit along with his collegiate experience. He is currently an assistant coach for the Gainesville Juniors Volleyball Club and has past experience with programs in Orlando and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lopas has coached at the high school level at Winter Park (Fla.) High School, Bishop Moore Catholic High School, and Freedom High School.
