Ian Manson starts his first season at Flagler as its volunteer assistant baseball coach.
Manson comes to Flagler after graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor's in liberal arts and history in December of 2007.
At FGCU, Manson was a two-year starter as an infielder. As a senior, in 53 games he batted a team-high .364 with 71 hits, 47 runs scored, 24 doubles, three triples, seven home runs ad 58 RBI. He also had a .991 fielding percentage. He helped lead the Eagles to a 41-17 record.
As a junior, in 33 games he batted .346 with 28 hits, 21 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, four home runs and 17 RBI. Received the Male Athlete Sportsmanship award at FGCU.
Manson attended Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas prior to arriving at FGCU. He lettered both seasons and earned the team's "Heart and Soul" Award as a sophomore.
The Plano, Texas native graduated from Plano East High School in 2002 where he lettered in basball for three years and earned all-District honors in 2001 and 2002.
