Coach Chanita Olds begins her first year at the helm of Flagler's Lady Saints basketball team. Olds brings with her the desire to help the Lady Saints win their third consecutive Sun Conference Championship.
Olds is also the Director of Student Services, sharing responsibility for activities and housing with Assistant Dean and women's soccer coach Wayne King.
Originally f rom Campbellton, Fla., Olds played basketball and softball and ran track for Graceville High School. She went on to earn all-conference and all-state honors at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville. While working toward her BA in Sport Management from Saint Leo University, she also served as men's assistant basketball coach. During her playing career at Saint Leo, she earned the distinction of being named to the all-conference team as well as serving as team captain.
From Saint Leo, Olds moved to the position of women's assistant basketball coach at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. Most recently, she served as the women's assistant coach at Florida A&M University. Olds also is pursuing a master's degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy.
