Efrain Gutierrez starts his fourth season as an assistant coach.
He got his coaching start at Miami County Day School, where he stayed for two years. Gutierrez than moved on to his alma mater, Matanzas High School, where he was an assistant for one year. He was promoted to defensive coordinator, which he served for two years. After that, he was promoted again, this time to head coach where he served for another two years.
At the club level, Gutierrez founded the Goatlax regional club team and was a member of the coaching staff for both the Wave and Possums.
As a player, Gutierrez played collegiately at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Daytona Beach, Florida. Following his time as an Eagle, he played in the Florida Lacrosse League (FLL), playing for Miami Lacrosse Club and the Jax Armadillos.
Gutierrez is currently a member of the Puerto Rico national lacrosse team.
He currently resides in Palm Coast with his fiancé, Darbi Ellis, who is a Flagler alum, and their dog.
