Biography

Coach Barnett says: “Billy will be used as a back-up at first base and can also play third.  He is a strong right handed hitter.”

2007 (JUNIOR): Played in 43 games and started 39...Primarily played first base...Batted .284 with nine doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI...Went 3-for-3 with three runs scored vs. Bethel, Ind. (Feb. 28)...Went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored at Rollins (Apr. 14).

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Fla…Played for Head Coach Ernie Rosseau.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from George Jenkins High School in Lakeland…Lettered all four years in baseball for Head Coach Tom Patton...As a senior, he hit .400 and posted a 7-2 record on the hill…Earned first-team All-County honors…Played first base, pitched and also caught.

PERSONAL: Son of Billy and Jackie Johnson…A business administration major…Has a younger brother and sister…His cousins, Brian (graduate assistant) and Braxton Williams (junior guard) are both at Florida Southern College and members of the men’s basketball team…The best athlete he ever faced is New York Met top prospect Lastings Milledge…His favorite television show is “Chappelle’s Show.”
