Statistics: 2016

2016 (SOPHOMORE): Finished with a 19-6 overall record in singles and went 15-4 in the spring...Held a 7-2 record in the Peach Belt which helped him earn first-team all-conference honors...Ranked as high as No. 26 in the nation and No. 7 in the region...Posted a 4-3 record vs. nationally ranked opponents...Defeated No. 9 Julien Tan of Concordia in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-1 (March 10)...Also beat No. 23 Richard Ashforth of Francis Marion, 6-2 and 6-3 (April 10)...Held a 17-13 record in doubles and 13-11 in the spring...Played all but one doubles match with Lukas Storck...Tandem ranked as high as No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the region...The duo posted a 2-1 record against nationally ranked pairs...Knocked off the top-ranked doubles team in the nation, Jui Mao and Ofir Ginat, 8-1 vs. Concordia (March 10).

BEFORE FLAGLER: Attended Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.

2015 (FRESHMAN): Posted a 0-3 record in singles (0-2 at #1 and 0-1 at #2) and went 3-4 in doubles play, all at #1...Won all three doubles matches with Laurynas Antropikas.

PREP SCHOOL: Attended Colegio Altomonte in Villa Alemana, Chile...Compiled a 37-16 record in singles and went 31-17 in doubles in his final two years of competition...Was ranked No. 256 by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 2012...Reached the ITF Futures Tournament semifinals in doubles play with his brother, Carlos...Has recorded wins over the No. 800 ranked player by the ATP and the No. 30 ranked player by the ITF...Topped the rankings for a player under the ages of 12, 14 and 16.

PERSONAL: Son of Carlos Gonzalez and Elsa Leiva...Has two brothers...An economics major at Flagler...Likes to fish and play soccer in his spare time..."Gladiator" is his favorite movie...Lists Spanish tennis pro Fernando Verdasco as his favorite athlete...Sushi is his favorite food.
