2016 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted...A PBC Presidential Honor Roll Bronze Scholar.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from École secondaire publique Louis-Riel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada...Lettered in soccer, track and field and cross country...Attended the highest ranked sports school in Canada's capital city...Was an honor roll student all four years...High school is an all-French school...Was scouted to train with Stoke City FC Academy and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Academy in England...Also scouted to attend and participate in an invite-only Real Madrid Select Program and receive intense training at its academy...Was the lone Canadian of 30 elite international youth soccer players who played against the Real Madrid Academy and the Rayo Vallecano Youth Academy in 2014.

CLUB: Played for the Ottawa South United SC and helped lead the team to the Ontario Youth Soccer League Eastern Conference title in 2015...Played for the Ottawa Fury FC Academy and helped lead the team to the 2014 SYL Atlantic Division title. 

PERSONAL: Son of Patrick Bechthold and Corina Kelly...Has two sisters...One sister, Avery, is on the soccer team at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina...His late grandfather, Robert Kelly, was one of the best soccer players in Canada in the 1950s and early 1960s playing for the National All-Stars as a captain and many times for the Ontario All-Stars before moving to Italia SC and being paid the largest local trade amount at the time...His father, Patrick, played collegiately at the University of Saskatchewan...Will be an economics major.
