Don Robbins began his men’s golf coaching career in 1998 and has led teams to the NAIA National championship seven out of the last eight  years (1999-2006). The Flagler men’s golf team was the Florida Sun Conference champion three consecutive years (2004, 2005, & 2006) before moving to NCAA-II in the 2006-2007 season.  The Flagler men’s golf team was the NAIA Region IV champion in 2006 and finished #2 in the nation in the final NAIA rankings.

Robbins was chosen Florida Sun Conference Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, & 2006 and was awarded Region IV Coach of the Year in 2006 as well.  During his tenure, his teams have won tournaments at the NAIA level, NCAA Division II level, and NCAA Division I level.  From 1999-2006, his teams have been ranked in the top 25 nationally.  His teams have also produced five All-American players in the past eight years.

In 2002, Robbins coached the USA team in the World University Games held in Taipei, Taiwan.  The NAIA coaches chose Robbins for this honor, as well as electing him to the NAIA Men’s Golf Association committee from 2004-2006.

Robbins is the past club champion at the St. Johns Golf Club, winning the championship four times in the past eight years.  He carries a handicap of one and participates in national and sectional events.

Robbins earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of William & Mary and a master’s degree in Math Education from Jacksonville University.  In addition to coaching the men’s golf team, Robbins teaches a variety of math courses at Flagler College.

He lives with his wife, Liz, who teaches in the English department at Flagler, and his labradoodle, Saffi, in downtown St. Augustine.
