Kyle Cregan starts his third year as the assistant men's basketball coach after a one-year stint in the same position back in 2008-09.
Cregan has handled the bulk of the recruiting duties this past year for the Saints.
Cregan comes back to historic St. Augustine after six years on Leonard Hamilton’s staff at Florida State University. The last four years at Florida State, Cregan served as the video coordinator - assisting the coaching staff with scouting, strategic analysis, opponent tendencies, and video breakdown. He also helped evaluate prospective recruits and organized the Leonard Hamilton Team Camp, which was among the most popular camps in the Southeastern United States. In Cregan’s first year as video coordinator, he helped the Seminoles win the first Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in school history as well as make their fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Cregan initially joined the Florida State staff in 2009-10 as a graduate assistant, and was primarily responsible for player development. In his two years as a graduate assistant, Cregan worked hands-on with four players who would go on to become NBA draft picks: Solomon Alabi, Ryan Reid, Chris Singleton, and Bernard James. Florida State made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament, including a Sweet 16 berth in 2011. Cregan also earned his master’s degree in sports management while at Florida State.
Prior to his time at Florida State, Cregan served as Flagler’s assistant coach under head coach Bo Clark. He also worked for one year as an assistant boys’ varsity and head junior varsity coach at River Ridge High School in New Port Richey, Florida. Cregan’s team posted a record of 17-1 in his one year as the head coach.
Cregan earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Flagler. He was a four-year letter winner for the men's basketball team and was part of the winningest period in school history.  Cregan helped the Saints advance to the NAIA Division II Sweet 16 in both 2004 and 2005. The Saints won both the Florida Sun Conference regular season and tournament championships during his freshman season.
