Ben Krentzman

Ben Krentzman will be in charge of the grounds at Flagler Field as well as assisting the baseball program in the area of outfield play and hitting. He replaces Mike Fryrear who is now working in the Orlando area.

Krentzman comes to Flagler from NCAA Division I member Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. where he served as an assistant coach, at his alma mater, for three years. He was the hitting, outfield and first base coach for the Bison and head coach Gene Depew. During Krentzman’s time as an assistant coach, Bucknell won the Patriot League title in 2008 and advanced to the Tallahassee Regional where they defeated Florida State University.

Last summer, he served as the assistant coach of the Alexandria (Va.) Aces of the Cal Ripken, Jr. Collegiate Baseball League. He helped develop players from some of the top programs in Division I.

Prior to Bucknell, Krentzman served as an assistant coach for Clearwater (Fla.) High School and helped guide the team to a conference and district championship in 2005.

He has also spent four years as a coach at the Tampa Bay Rays Camp in St. Petersburg.

The Clearwater, Fla.-native graduated from Bucknell in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was a four-year letter winner for the Bison as an outfielder and helped lead the team to a pair of league championships in 2001 and 2003.
