Jessica Wright and
Molly Sloan of the Flagler College women's lacrosse team was named Gulf South Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the week yesterday afternoon, according to conference officials.
For the eighth time this season, the Flagler College women's lacrosse team has a player named to the GSC Players of the Week. This is Wrights fourth Offensive Player of the Week award this season and Sloan's first Defensive Player of the Week.
Wright tallied 13 points on the week to help No. 1 Flagler remain undefeated on the season. The senior had three goals and three assists in a 19-4 win at Young Harris. She also scored three goals on five shots, all on frame, while notching season-high numbers in assists (four) and caused turnovers (two) in a 22-3 victory at Lee.
Sloan led the Saints' defense to two victories on the week, improving to 15-0 overall. The senior found a career-high seven ground balls and recorded her first-ever assist in the landslide 19-4 win over Young Harris. She then contributed four ground balls and three caused turnovers in the 22-3 win over Lee.
