Tabitha Hanely,
Henriette Stranda,
Stella Jelinek, and
Bhoomi Jagtap were named to the 2024-25 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, released this morning. They were part of 1,499 total women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor.
This was Stranda's second consecutive WGCA All-American Scholar Team selection.
Sixteen golfers from the Peach Belt Conference were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) is 3.50, be an amateur on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Hanely is a junior and is majoring in art at Flagler. The Bradenton, Florida native averaged 75.48 strokes per round this past season for the Saints after transferring from Seminole State College in Florida. She finished in fifth place at the St. Simons Intercollegiate (Oct. 14-15) with a 7-over par 223. Hanely shot a season-best even par 216 at the NCAA Division II National Tournament (May 13-15).
Stranda is a junior and an international business major. The Kråkstad, Norway native finished second on the team with a 72.13 strokes per round average and had nine top 10 finishes and won two tournaments. She won the St. Simons Intercollegiate with a 2-under 214 and won the Emerald Coast Collegiate (March 10-11) with a 9-under 204. Stranda earned first team all-conference honors and was a WGCA All-South Region and a D2 All-America selection. She earned academic all-conference honors. Stranda finished No. 6 in the final SCOREBOARD national ranking.
Jelinek is a junior and a psychology major at Flagler. The Leimen, Germany native led the team with a 71.90 strokes per round average and had seven top 10 finishes, including two tournament wins. Jelinek won back-to-back tournaments as she closed out the fall winning the Rollins Legends Invitational (Nov. 3-4) with a 3-under 213. She opened the spring by winning the World Golf Invitational (Feb. 17-18) with a 1-under 215. Jelinek was named the PBC Player of the Year for the third year in a row and received WGCA All-South Region and D2 All-America honors. She earned academic all-conference honors. Jelinek finished No. 4 in the final SCOREBOARD national ranking.
Jagtap is sophomore international business and sport management major. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native averaged 76.20 strokes per round and had two top 10 finishes. She finished in seventh place in her first two tournaments wearing the Crimson & Gold. Jagtap carded an 8-over 224 at the St. Simons Intercollegiate and a 5-over 149 at the Flagler Fall Slam (Oct. 21-22).
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
