Jelinek and Stranda earn WGCA All-America and All-South Region honors

Hodgson named to honorable mention team

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Stella Jelinek and Henriette Stranda of Flagler College were selected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division II All-America team as well as the All-South Region team, which were released Friday (May 16) morning.

Jelinek earned her third All-America honor while Stranda picked up her second in a row. Jelinek received her third all-region selection and Stranda collected her second all-region accolade. Jordyn Hodgson was named honorable mention. 

Jelinek turned in another superb season as she is ranked No. 4 in the current SCOREBOARD national rankings, powered by clippd, earned all-region honors, and was the Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Year for the third consecutive season. The Leimen, Germany native played in 11 tournaments this season and had seven top 10 finishes with all five being in the top five, and she won two tournaments. Jelinek finished in a tie for 21st place at NCAA Division II National Championship and tied for 12th at the NCAA Division II South Regional. She finished with a 71.90 strokes per round average.

Stranda is ranked No. 5 in the latest national ranking and earned all-region and first team all-conference honors this year. The Kråkstad, Norway native had nine top 10 finishes in 11 tournaments, including six top fives, and she won two tournaments. Stranda finished with a 72.13 strokes per round average and finished in a tie for 103th place at the NCAA Division II National Tournament and finished in second place at the NCAA Division II South Regional.

Hodgson is ranked No. 34 in the latest national ranking. The Orlando, Florida native had four top 10 finishes, including three top-fives, and she won a tournament. She finished with a 73.89 stroke per round average and finished in a tie for 25th place at the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Hodgson tied for 16th place at the regional tournament. She won the Flagler Fall Slam with a 4-under 140.

About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
 
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
