Grimm, McClendon, and Weeks named to academic team

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's Carleigh Grimm, Destiny McClendon, and Aspen Weeks were named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division II Academic All-District® Team, according to a release Tuesday afternoon.
 
Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards. A select group of student-athletes advances to the national ballot where CSC members vote on Academic All-America teams. A Team Member of the Year is selected in each sport and division. An overall Academic All-America of the Year is selected as the top student-athlete across all sports in each NCAA and NAIA division.

Grimm, a junior forward, is a sport management major at Flagler. The St. Clairsville, Ohio native averaged 5.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. She scored a career-high 12 points twice this season and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds at USC Aiken (Feb. 5, 2025). She is a Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar and earned academic all-conference as well as being a D2 ADA award recipient.

McClendon, a senior guard, is a digital media production and journalism major. The Greensboro, Georgia native averaged 13.5 points per game and sank a team-best 86.5 percent of her shots from the free throw line. McClendon scored a season-best 27 points at Lander University on Feb. 26. She made all 12 free throw attempts and finished with 14 points at Southern Wesleyan University (Nov. 26). Last year, McClendon earned academic all-conference honors, was a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar, and a D2 ADA award recipient.

Weeks, a sophomore guard, is an English major. The Aurora, Illinois native averaged 3.3 points and 0.8 assists per game. She scored a season-high 10 points twice this past season and dished out a season-high four assists against the University of Fort Lauderdale (Dec. 3, 2024). Last year, Weeks earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar honors.
