Flagler women hold steady at No. 11

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Flagler College women's lacrosse team remains at No. 11 for the third consecutive week according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Top 25 poll, which was released this afternoon.

Flagler (14-1 overall, 5-0 Gulf South) won both of its matches last week as the Saints rallied to defeat The University of Alabama in Huntsville (15-12) and then rolled to a 24-7 rout of Shorter University.

The top five are the same from last week again, except for one small change. The top two remain unchanged with West Chester University (13-0) receiving 18 first place votes leading the way and Pace University (11-1) is second with six first place votes. The University of Tampa (13-2) moved up one spot to No. 3 while Regis University of Colorado (12-0) dropped one spot to No. 4. Florida Southern College (13-2) stayed at to No. 5.

Other teams from the South and Southeast Regions that are nationally ranked are: No. 8 Rollins College (13-2), No. 10 Wingate University (14-2), No. 14 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (12-3), No. 16 Lynn University (10-5), No. 22 Saint Leo University (10-5), and No. 25 Limestone University (13-2).

Flagler wraps up the regular season on Saturday at Lander University. With a win, the Saints can win the Gulf South Conference regular season title for the first time in the two-year existence of the program.
