Crane and Swackhammer selected to academic teams

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College's Kierra Crane and Logan Swackhammer were named to the Peach Belt Conference's Women's and Men's Basketball Teams of Academic Distinction (formerly the all-academic teams), released Wednesday afternoon by conference officials.
 
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.

Crane earned her third academic all-conference honor. The senior from Kissimmee, Florida, is a psychology major. Crane has played in 24 games, with 23 starts, and is averaging 8.7 points per game. She leads the team with 30 three-pointers and has a 30.6 shooting percentage from behind the arc.

Swackhammer, a sophomore from Chillicothe, Ohio, is majoring in business administration. He has played in 21 games with six starts and is averaging 4.1 points and 1.9 assists per game.

Flagler hosts Clayton State University this evening (5:30 and 7:30 p.m.) at Flagler Gymnasium.
