ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College Department of Athletics announced today several updates regarding the 2020-21 men's and women's basketball seasons.
 
Many details remain to be determined, but department officials expect those details to be clarified by the NCAA and Peach Belt Conference in the weeks ahead.

For now, the official start date for practice is Nov. 1. The NCAA Division II President's Council is expected to decide the fate of winter championships by the end of the month. That announcement will influence the decision of Peach Belt Conference presidents in regard to the first date of competition and number of games scheduled for the 2020-21 season.

NCAA Division II previously announced a reduction in the maximum number of men's and women's basketball contests from 26 to 22. PBC institutions will play conference-only basketball schedules this season.

Given the reduction in the number of home contests for the 2020-21 season, Flagler College is offering a discount on its season tickets for reserved chair-back seating and general admission season tickets.

Season tickets for reserved chair-back seating, typically $200, are on sale for $100. General admission season tickets (regularly $75) can be purchased for $50 for all regular season home contests.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Flagler College Athletics has reduced the capacity to 40 percent for athletics events that take place in Flagler Gymnasium this season.

A maximum of 400 spectators are allowed in Flagler Gymnasium and fans are expected to wear masks and social distance with non-homogenous groups when possible. Temperature checks will be performed for all spectators prior to entry.
