ST. AUGUSTINE – Wingate University erupted for 10 runs in the sixth inning en route to an 11-0 win over Flagler College in a non-conference baseball game at Drysdale Field Saturday afternoon.
Wingate remains undefeated at 6-0 while Flagler dropped to 3-2.
Already sporting a 1-0 lead, the Bulldogs got the onslaught started when Andrew Llewellyn a single down the left field line to plate Tyler Schneider who led off the inning with a walk. Two batters later, Zach Little drilled a single to right to score Tanner Forry to give Wingate a 3-0 lead.
That chased Flagler starter
Kyle Morton (1-1) from the game. He tossed 5 1/3 innings and surrendered seven hits and four earned runs.
Reliever
Trey Frazier didn't have any better luck as he last 1/3 of an inning and yielded three hits and five runs, only one of those runs was earned.
Schneider, who led off the inning with a walk hit a two-run single to left.
Hunter Hamilton (1-0) tossed six scoreless innings and only allowed three hits to pick up the win. Three other Bulldog relievers worked an inning.
Llewellyn went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Austin Turgeon went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. McCann Mellett collected a pair of singles.
Ja'Kobi Dasher hit a triple for the Saints.

Flagler will take on Florida Tech tomorrow (Feb. 11) at 2 p.m. at Drysdale Field to wrap up the Flagler Kickoff Classic.
Other scores from the tournament: Wingate defeated Florida Tech 6-5 (11 inn.) in the resumption of the suspended game from Friday night and Valdosta State blanked Florida Tech 2-0.
