ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Flagler College closed out its non-conference schedule with a 2-0 win over Eckerd College Tuesday night at Johnson Field.
Flagler improved to 10-3-1 overall, which marks the second consecutive season the Saints have recorded 10 or more wins. That hasn't happened since the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Eckerd dropped its fourth match in a row and dropped to 6-7-1 overall.
"We started out slowly, but we improved as the first half progressed," said head coach
Ashley Martin. "We controlled the second half and deservedly earned the win."
Concepcion Sanchez got Flagler on the board with her goal in the 26
th minute. She took a short touch pass outside the goal box from
Sara Sandberg and fired a shot into the right corner.

Maria Castorino Mujica chipped the keeper off
Mia Pencak's cross from the far right wing for the insurance goal.
Sarah-Lisa Dubel turned in her fourth clean sheet of the season with one save. Casey Winn recorded five saves for the Tritons.
Flagler owned a 13-3 advantage over Eckerd in shots, which also included a 7-1 spread in shots on goal. The Saints also had seven corner kicks while the Tritons had two. Eckerd was whistled for 10 fouls while Flagler had three.
Flagler closes out its regular season on Saturday (Oct. 27) against Francis Marion University on "Senior Day" at 3 p.m. at Saints Field.
