ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College committed six errors which led to eight unearned runs in a 12-5 loss to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Friday night at Drysdale Field.
UNC Pembroke extended its winning streak to seven games and improved to 28-11 overall and 11-8 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 25-17 overall and 12-7 in conference play.
Ethan Baucom belted a two-run home run to left field in the third inning for the Braves and then three more runs, two of which were unearned, scored in the fourth to stake UNCP to a 5-0 lead. Drew Beaver's double in the fifth scored Nick Debo with the eventual game-winning run.
The last six runs scored by the Braves, in the last five innings, were aided by four Flagler errors.
The Saints scored five runs in the seventh to elude the shutout.
Lorenzo Butler hit a two-run single and
Dylan Jones hit a three-run shot.
Anthony Burke (7-1) tossed 6 2/3 innings and scattered eight hits. He allowed five runs, walked two and fanned four. Burke retired 12 batters on fly outs.
Beaver went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs batted in, two runs scored and stole two bases. Roberto Rivera singled twice, walked twice, scored a run and drove in another. Jarrett Mobley collected a pair of singles, had one run batted in a nd he scored two runs.
Cole Ondrejka collected three singles for the Saints.
Igor Baez went 2-for-4 with a double.
Michael Maiocco (8-3) lasted five innings and surrendered six hits. Four of the seven runs he allowed were earned.

Jordan Doyle closed out the game.
The same two teams meet tomorrow in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Drysdale Field on "Senior Night."
