EVANS, Ga. – Riley Clark scored two goals to help lead No. 10 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll) Columbus State University to a 3-1 win over No. 18 Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinal match Friday afternoon at Blanchard Woods Park.
Columbus State improved to 15-2-0 and will play in the championship match for the fourth year in a row, this time against the University of North Carolina Pembroke on Sunday at 1 p.m. Flagler falls to 15-2-2 and will wait to see where and who it will play in the NCAA Division II Tournament on Monday (Nov. 6) at 6 p.m.
Tehgan Anguilm's corner kick found Clark in the box and her header brushed the right post and snuck over the line to give the Lady Cougars a 2-0 lead in the 57
th minute.
Hannah Dolores scored her first collegiate goal in the 60
th minute to get the Saints on the board and make it a one-goal game. Fio Fustagno threaded a pass into the box to Dolores who then slotted the ball into the right corner of the goal.
Clark scored the insurance goal in the 85
th minute when Cassandra Wade found Clark open at the top of the box. She beat the defender to the left and scored.
Bria Rancho recorded six saves for the Lady Cougars. Sarah-Lisa Dubel recorded 14 saves, a season-best for the freshman keeper. She had nine saves alone in the second half.
Columbus State out-shot Flagler 26-9 and held a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
