ST. AUGUSTINE –
Megan Hooks recorded a match-high 12 kills to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-13) sweep of Columbus State University in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Friday night at Flagler Gymnasium.
Flagler improved to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the Peach Belt. Columbus State fell to 2-15 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Hooks hit .400 for the match with just two errors on 25 swings.
Sara Davis and
Taja Valmyr each added seven kills.
Caitlyn Kovach recorded a match-high 19 digs while
Tara Savisky tallied 33 assists.
Flagler hit .287 for the match with 39 kills and 12 errors on 94 swings.
Megan Frame, Cori Ehmen and Kylie Beaubien each had five kills for the Lady Cougars. Caytlin Merritt recorded 10 digs while Ehmen tallied 18 assists.
Columbus State hit .042 and was held to a negative hitting percentage in the third set.
Flagler plays host to the University of Montevallo tomorrow (Oct. 10) at 2 p.m. in another conference match-up.
