SAVANNAH, Ga. – Rachel Thompson recorded 15 kills and Emily Wylie added 10 more as No. 16 (AVCA Division II Top 25) Armstrong State University defeated Flagler College 3-0 (25-3, 25-15, 25-10) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at The ARC.
Armstrong extended its winning streak to 19 matches and improved to 24-1 overall and 16-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler drops below .500 with a 13-14 overall record and a 7-9 mark in conference play.
Thompson hit .778 with one error on 18 swings while Wylie hit .750 with one error on 12 swings. Taylor Parmenter added five block assists while Kamryn Sherman tallied 37 assists for the Pirates. Stephanie Sfara and Morgan Hill led the defense with 12 digs apiece. Sfara also had three service errors.
Armstrong hit a robust .507 as a team with 43 kills and five errors on 75 swings.
Ashley Cheewah led the Saints with six kills.
Caitlyn Kovach collected eight digs and
Amelia Morgan tallied 12 assists.
Flagler wraps up the regular season on the road next weekend, starting at the University of South Carolina Aiken on Friday (Nov. 7) at 7 p.m.
