Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Keith Matthews and Jerrell Oxendine combined to score 40 points as Flagler College rolled to a 105-65 win over Clearwater Christian College in a non-conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.

Flagler extended its winning streak to five games and improved to 5-1 on the season. Clearwater Christian falls to 3-7.

The Saints had six players score in double figures, led by Matthews and Oxendine with 20 points apiece. Matthews added eight rebounds, three steals and three assists. Desmond Gibson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dennis Diaz and Lydell Manigo also added 13 points apiece while Matt Conway came off the bench to tally 10 points.

Flagler shot 50% (36-72) in the game, including a 51.4% (18-35) clip in the first half. The Saints defense stiffened in the second half after allowing the Cougars to shoot 51.7% (15-29) in the first half. Clearwater Christian was held to 28.6% (10-35) shooting in the second half.

Tristan Shore scored a game-high 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Cougars. C.J. Baxter added nine points and Erik McRae dished out eight assists.

The Saints pulled away early in the second half. Flagler went on an 18-10 run coming out of the locker rooms.

Flagler will break for exams and return to the court next Saturday (Dec. 14) in the Peach Belt Conference opener at Young Harris College at 3:30 p.m.
