AUGUSTA, Ga. − Ben Madgen scored a team-high 21 points to lead third-ranked (NABC Division II Top 25) Augusta State University to a 97-67 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at the George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Augusta State remained undefeated at 12-0 overall and raised its conference record to 4-0. Flagler had its two-game winning streak snapped and fell to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the Peach Belt.

Madgen, the PBC's all-time leading scorer, sank 4-of-6 three-pointers, was 6-for-11 from the field and made all five free throw attempts. He broke the conference's scoring mark Monday night at North Georgia and entered tonight's game with 1,866 career points.

Daniel Dixon added 20 points and three steals while Fred Brathwaite contributed 20 points and nine rebounds for the Jaguars. Alex Smith chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Augusta State shot 56.3% (36-64) from the floor in the game, including 63.6% (21-33) in the second half alone. The Jaguars out-scored the Saints 40-22 in the paint and scored 21 points off 13 Flagler turnovers.

John Pietkiewicz (Winter Park, Fla./New Hampton (N.H.) Prep) scored a game-high 22 points on 6-of-7 shooting from behind the arc. Chad July (Fort White, Fla./Bridgton (Maine) Academy) added 10 points. #D.J. Ferguson# (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) tallied five points and dished out seven assists.

Kenny Moore's (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach HS) transition layup put Flagler within a basket (39-27) of Augusta State with 19:30 left in the game, but the Jaguars went on a 31-8 run which lasted 6:47 to put the game away. Dixon scored 15 of ASU's 31 points in the run, including sinking three shots from long range. The Jaguars made 92.3% (12-13) of its shots in the run.

Flagler hosts Lander University on Saturday (Jan. 9) at 3:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
