AMERICUS, Ga. − Senior defender Neil Patrickson (Newcastle upon Tyne, England/West Denton School) headed in a cross from junior midfielder Danny Burke (Leeds, England/Thomas Danby College) in the 89th minute as Flagler College edged Georgia Southwestern University 2-1 in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at the GSW Soccer Field. Flagler raised its record to 2-1 while GSW fell to 0-3.

After a scoreless first half, Flagler got on the board first when freshman midfielder Johan Bergfeld (Akers Styckebruk, Sweden/Rekarnegymnasiet) headed in sophomore midfielder Conor Killeen's (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) corner kick in the 70th minute.

Derek Schicker scored the equalizer in the 85th minute as he broke away with ball at midfield and dribbled in on the keeper before finding the back of the net.

Freshman goalkeeper Chandler Gay (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo HS) recorded one save for the Saints. John Scharnikow tallied three saves for the Hurricanes.

Flagler out-shot GSW 12-8 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Flagler hosts Florida Tech on Wednesday (Sept. 10) at 7 p.m. at Saints Field.
