COLUMBIA, S.C. − Bryan Borstelmann (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee HS) scored a team-high 16 points to help Flagler College fend off a scrappy Allen University team 82-75 in a non-conference men's basketball game Tuesday night at the Hurst-Adams Gymnatorium. Flagler wins its sixth game in a row and raised its record to 18-5. Allen falls to 3-19.

#D.J. Ferguson# (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) added 15 points and seven assists while Kenny Moore (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach HS) tallied 12 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds. Brandon Johnson (Plantation, Fla./St. Johns River CC) chipped in with 10 points while Ben De La Cruz (Orlando, Fla./University HS) grabbed 11 rebounds. John Pietkiewicz (Winter Park, Fla./New Hampton (N.H.) School) dished out a game-high eight assists.

Hiram Carolina scored a game-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets. He also made all 11 attempts from the charity stripe. Demetrice Terrell tallied 16 points. Joshua Williams added 12 points and seven rebounds for Allen, an NAIA Division I independent.

Flagler used a 14-3 run to erase a 24-23 deficit and take 37-27 lead with 2:59 left in the half. The Saints would lead by as many as 14 in the first half and take a 46-33 lead into the half.

After a Terrell 3-pointer cut the Flagler lead to 54-46 with 10:24 left in the game, the Saints reeled off another 14-3 run to take its biggest lead of the game 68-49.

The Yellow Jackets answered with their own run, a 19-5 spurt to get back into the game. Williams sank a pair of free throws with 2:30 left to cut the score to 73-68. Williams later made a layup with 1:31 left and the Yellow Jackets were down 76-72, but they couldn't get any closer.

Flagler hosts the University of West Florida on Thursday (Feb. 14) at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
