DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. − Freshman Eammon Murphy (Winter Springs, Fla./Winter Springs HS) scored a pair of goals to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 win over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in a non-conference men's soccer match Wednesday night at the ERAU Soccer Stadium. Flagler ends the regular season on a five-match winning streak and an 11-5-2 record. Embry-Riddle had its two-match win streak snapped and ended its regular season with a 9-6-3 record.

Flagler's 11 victories are the most the program has had in a season since posting 12 wins in 2003 (12-5-2).

Murphy's two goals, numbers three and four on the season, came 38 seconds apart from each other in the first half. He scored in the 30th minute and then in the 31st minute to put the Saints ahead 2-0. Sophomore Conor Killeen (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) assisted on both goals.

Just a little over two minutes later, the Eagles had a chance to cut the lead in half, but Joe Yoffe's penalty kick was denied by Flagler sophomore goalkeeper Zach Volpi (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Bishop Moore HS).

Junior Brad Vinciguerra (Syracuse, N.Y./Onondaga CC) capped the scoring by heading in a cross from senior Neil Patrickson (Newcastle upon Tyne, England/West Denton School) in the 85th minute.

Volpi tallied three saves for the Saints and earned his second shutout of the season.

Robert Knipple recorded four saves in goal for Embry-Riddle.

Flagler out-shot ERAU 14-7, but the Eagles held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Flagler's hopes for continuing its season lies in the hands of the NCAA Division II men's soccer selection committee. The committee will announce the field for the 2008 regionals on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Eastern. Flagler is in contention for one of four bids to the South Region Tournament which would start either Nov. 13 or 14.
