ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's basketball team dropped their fifth game in a row to North Georgia College and State University, 63-53, Saturday night at Flagler Gym. The Flagler Saints' record is now 1-6 while the North Georgia Saints improve to a perfect 3-0 for the season.

#Ben De La Cruz# (Orlando, Fla./University HS) and #D.J. Ferguson# (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) led the Flagler scoring offense with 14 points each. Cruz also grabbed seven rebounds, and Ferguson dished out six assists. #Brandon Johnson# (Plantation, Fla./St. Johns River CC) notched the team-high of nine rebounds and had two blocks. #John Pietkiewicz# (Winter Park, Fla./New Hampton Prep) added ten points for the Saints.

Four North Georgia players tied with 12 points each; Anthony Rowe grabbed 12 rebounds in addition, the only player of the game to have a double-double. The North Georgia Saints outscored the Flagler Saints 30-3 in points from the bench. They also doubled the amount of Flagler's offensive rebounds, 12-6.

The game began on an 11-2 run in Flagler's favor over seven minutes. A Brody Langston layup tied the game at 13, but Flagler regained the lead heading into the locker room. After a back-and-forth ten minutes of the second half, Rowe hit a jumper to put the score up 40-39. North Georgia led the rest of the time.

Flagler men's basketball returns to Flagler Gym on Wednesday, Dec. 3, to take on Lynn University at 7 p.m.
