ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − In the last home stand at Saints Field, the Flagler College men's soccer team defeated Palm Beach Atlantic University 4-1 to become the Independent Collegiate Athletic Association champions. The Saints improved to 10-5-2. The Sailfish dropped to 9-6-1.

Conor Killeen (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) kicked things off for the Saints and scored from a pass by Brad Vinciguerra (Syracuse, N.Y./Onondaga CC) 22 minutes into the game. A shot from Eammon Murphy (Winter Springs, Fla./Winter Springs HS), assisted by Killeen, rounded out the first period to bring the score to 2-0. The duo scored a second time to make it 3-0, and senior Fredrik Ericsson (Uppsala, Sweden/Linneskolan) shot Flagler's final goal of the night off an assist by Johan Bergfeld (Akers Styckebruk, Sweden/Rekarnegymniaset).

Palm Beach Atlantic's Kyle Crouse scored their only goal off a pass from Cheyne Roberts. Sailfish keeper Joe Yurchak recorded seven saves, while Saints keeper Zach Volpi (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) had four for the night. Flagler out shot PBA 24-10.

Seniors Ericsson, Neil Patrickson (Newcastle upon Tyne, England/West Denton HS), and David Iafrate (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz HS) were all honored before the game. Iafrate added one shot to Flagler's total statistics.

The men travel to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Wednesday, Nov. 5, in their final match of the regular season. The game is set for 7 p.m.
