LAKELAND, Fla. − Sophomore midfielder Conor Killeen's (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) goal in the 87th minute was all the offense Flagler College needed to muster in a 1-0 win over Florida Southern College in a non-conference men's soccer match Tuesday afternoon at Barnett Field. Flagler snapped its four-match winless streak and improved to 5-4-1. Florida Southern had its two-match win streak snapped and fell to 3-7-0.

Johan Bergfeld (Akers Styckebruk, Sweden/Rekarnegymnasiet) started the run by stripping an FSC midfielder of the ball. Fredrik Ericsson (Uppsala, Sweden/Linneskolan) found Killeen at the near post for the goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Zach Volpi (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) earned his first career win and shutout. He recorded three saves for the Saints.

Johan Jonsson tallied five saves for the Moccasins.

Flagler out-shot Florida Southern 12-10, but the Mocs held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. FSC was whistled for 19 of the 32 fouls.

Flagler plays host to Saint Xavier University of Chicago on Thursday (Oct. 9) at 7 p.m.
