ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. − Danny Burke (Leeds, England/Thomas Danby College) scored a pair of goals and Conor Killeen (Dublin, Ireland/Colaiste Ide) scored a goal and assisted on another to lead Flagler College to a 5-1 win over Eckerd College in a key South Region men's soccer match Tuesday night at the North Soccer Field. Flagler won its third consecutive match and improved to 9-5-2 while Eckerd fell to 10-7-0.

Flagler is ranked No. 5 in the recent (Oct. 28) NCAA Division II South Region poll and the top four teams will participate in the regional tournament next month. Lynn (12-1-0) sits atop the poll followed by Tama (11-2-1), Montevallo (12-2-0) and West Florida (9-2-1).

Burke scored the match's fist goal in less than a minute scoring off a rebound of Killeen's initial shot. Mack Hough (St. Augustine, Fla./Pedro Menendez HS) scored in the 25th minute off of a pass from Dan Reid (Dublin, Ireland/Universit of Dublin). Killeen found the back of the net in the 32nd minute with Will Frandsen (Orange Park, Fla./Orange Park HS) assisting on the play.

Frandsen scored his second goal of the season in the 51st minute and Burke closed the scoring with a goal in the 80th minute, both coming off passes from Eammon Murphy (Winter Springs, Fla./Winter Springs HS).

Zach Volpi (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) tallied five saves for the Saints. Domenic Spedaliere tallied four saves for the Tritons.

Eckerd had a slim 19-18 advantage in shots. The Tritons took 17 corner kicks to the Saints seven.

Flagler has one more match in the South Region – Nov. 1 vs. Palm Beach Atlantic at 7 p.m. at Saints Field. PBA is ranked sixth in the region.
