ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The Flagler College men's soccer team pushed their game against St. Thomas University into double overtime, but neither team was able to score in the extended periods, resulting in a 1-1 tie Sunday night at Saints Field. The Saints are now 6-4-2, and the Bobcats have a record of 5-5-2 for the season.

The two goals started and ended regulation. Thiago Rocha of St. Thomas scored for his team three minutes into the match by a header off of a corner kick. Flagler responded with a powerful unassisted shot 25 yards out by Arnel Selman (Jacksonville, Fla./Woolfson HS) with a mere six seconds remaining on the clock, sending the game into overtime. The 1-1 tie would become the final score.

Mack Hough (St. Augustine, Fla./Pedro Menendez HS) added seven shots, two of them on goal, to lead the Saints, while keeper Zach Volpi (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Bishop Moore HS) had two saves for the night. The Saints out shot the Bobcats 31-11. Aggressive play by both teams resulted in an overall foul count of 42.

The men return to Saints Field Oct. 22 to take on Rollins at 7 p.m. after a Friday night (Oct. 17) match at Tampa.
