ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Flagler College head men’s basketball coach
Bo Clark announced Kenny Moore (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach HS) has signed a letter of intent to attend Flagler and play basketball for the 2007-08 season.
Moore is a 6-foot-6 small forward who helped lead Vero Beach High to a 19-9 overall record and the Class 6A regional quarterfinals. He averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game for veteran coach Chuck Lowendick.
“With the addition of Kenny to our program, it gives us added depth in the frontcourt which was part of our goal in this year’s recruiting class,” said Clark. “Kenny is a quality person as well as a solid player who comes from a very good basketball program at Vero Beach that has sent a lot of players to college programs.”
As a junior, Moore helped lead the Fighting Indians to the 6A semifinals where they lost to Winter Park High, 53-46. In the game, he tallied five points and seven rebounds while Flagler recruit John Pietkiewicz led all scorers with 24 points for Winter Park.
Moore joins Gilberto Clavell of Melbourne’s Florida Air Academy, D. J. Ferguson of Orlando’s Bishop Moore Catholic High School, Lyndon Merthie from St. Petersburg College and John Pietkiewicz of Winter Park and the New Hampton (N.H.) School in Coach Clark’s 2007 recruiting class.
Flagler College posted a 14-13 overall record in its first season of NCAA Division II provisional status. The Saints graduated three players off the 2006-07 roster.
