DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. − Sean Gormley (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee HS) scored the game’s only goal and gave Flagler College a 1-0 win over No. 6 (NAIA) Embry-Riddle University in a non-conference men’s soccer match Saturday night at the ERAU Soccer Complex. The win snapped Embry-Rddle’s seven-match streak without a loss (6-0-1) in the series between the two schools. It also extends ERAU’s losing streak to three matches since being ranked No.1 last week.

Gormley’s goal came in the 78th minute off of Andres Jaramillo’s (Orlando, Fla./Cypress Creek HS) corner kick. The ball deflected off an Embry-Riddle player and into the goal. Jordan Holtz (Clermont, Fla./South Lake HS) recorded his fifth shutout of the season for Flagler (7-3-0) and tallied five saves.

Ian Levine recorded two saves for Embry-Riddle (5-3-0). Daniel Whelan took four shots (one on goal) and Joe Yoffe had three shots, two of which were on goal.

Flagler takes on Webber International Wednesday afternoon a 3 p.m. at Babson Park. Flagler will look to avenge one of its three losses this season in that match.
