WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. − Joonas Siikala scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead Northwood University to a 4-1 win over Flagler College in a non-conference men’s soccer match Saturday afternoon at Arrigo Field.

However, it was Daniel Gocic’s unassisted goal in the 70th minute that would prove to be the game winner for Northwood (6-6-1), as he stole the ball from a Flagler defender and took the ball in to score.

Jacob Reuthammer put the Seahawks on the board with the only goal in the first half. He took a pass from Siikala and went up the left side and scored from 20 yards out.

Dustin Vrooman tallied five saves in goal for Northwood.

Northwood out-shot Flagler 15-8, but Flagler held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Gerson Penza (Willemstad, Curacao/St. Gregory’s U.) scored Flagler’s (9-6-0) lone goal in the 80th minute. He stole the ball from a Seahawk defender and beat the keeper to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Jordan Holtz (Clermont, Fla./South Lake HS) recorded five saves in 79 minutes of work.

Flagler College hosts Embry-Riddle University on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at Saints Field.
