ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Armstrong Atlantic State University rolled to a 3-0 (30-15, 30-23, 30-15) win over Flagler College in a non-conference women’s volleyball match Saturday morning at Flagler Gym. The sweep was the first time Flagler has lost in three at home since Oct. 26, 2004 against Rollins College.

In all, 13 different players saw time on the court for Armstrong Atlantic (14-11) which extends its winning streak to five matches and are victorious in seven of its last eight matches.

Lauren Good recorded a game-high 11 kills for the Pirates while Leah Schmiedge and Traci Knuth each added nine kills. Good finished with a .476 hitting percentage (11K-1E-21A). Christina Flores paced the defense with 12 digs and Margaret Thornton tallied 18 assists. Both Knuth and Flores recorded four total blocks.

The Pirate defense held the Saints to -.024 hitting for the match.

Justine Burkhardt (St. Augustine, Fla./Winthrop U.) led Flagler (17-11) with seven kills. Liz Moyer (Moore, S.C./Dorman HS) recorded a match-high 14 digs while Carrie Arnette (Gainesville, Fla./St. Johns River CC) and Audrey Hippensteel (Cooper City, Fla./Broward CC) each tallied 12 assists.

Flagler continues play this afternoon against the University of St. Francis at 1 p.m. followed by a match against Marian College of Indianapolis. Armstrong Atlantic ventures south this afternoon for a match at Florida Tech at 4 p.m.
