No. 25 Flagler cruised past Montevallo to wrap up the regular season on Sunday.

No. 25 Saints soar past Falcons, 8-1

Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – No. 25 (Campbell's/ITA Division II 50) Flagler College rolled to an easy 8-1 win over the University of Montevallo in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Courts.

Flagler ended its regular season with a 9-8 overall record and finished with an 8-4 Peach Belt record. Montevallo ends the season with a 6-17 overall mark and a 0-12 conference record.

Flagler started the day by winning all three doubles matches. Veronica Figueroa (Orlando, Fla., Cypress Creek HS) and Jennifer Saviano (Davie, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas HS) shut out Helene Nordgreen and Amy McGucken at No. 1. Esther Santiago (Madrid, Spain, Colegio Virgen de Europa) and Laura Ospina (Holiday, Fla., East Lake HS) teamed to beat Lauren Blair and Yulia Shvetsova 8-0 at No. 2. Flagler won at No. 3 by defeault.

Figueroa defeated McGucken in straight sets 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3. Ospina triumphed over Shvetsova 6-0 and 6-2 at No. 4. The Saints won Nos. 5 and 6 by default.

Flagler has wrapped up the No. 4 seed in next weekend's Peach Belt Conference Tournament held at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. The Saints will face the No. 5 seed which still has yet to be decided.
