Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 15 (Campbell's/ITA Division II) Flagler College defeated its second nationally ranked opponent this season when it rolled to a 7-2 victory over No. 29 Indiana University of Pennsylvania in a non-conference women's tennis match Monday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 5-6 overall while Indiana (Pa.) fell to 6-3.
The Saints swept through doubles play to open the match.
Rachel Gould (Toronto, Ontario, Vaughan Road Academy) and
Barbora Sebkova (Prague, Czech Republic, Gymnázium a Sportovní gymnázium Prípotocní) defeated Tabtip Louhabanjong and Katie Eaton 8-4 at No. 1.
Veronica Figueroa (Orlando, Fla., Cypress Creek HS) and
Jennifer Saviano (Davie, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas HS) coasted to an 8-2 win over Tanya Timko and Emilia Osborne at No. 2.
Krista Ingrilli (Ocala, Fla., Trinity Catholic HS) and
Esther Santiago bested Erika Schnass and Ranvita Mahto 8-5.
In singles play, Flagler dominated the first four matches. Figueroa won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-2, over Louhabanjong at No. 1. Saviano topped Eaton 6-3 and 6-1 at No. 2 and Sebkova had little trouble dispatching Timko at No. 3, 6-0 and 6-2. Gould won at No. 4 over Osborne, 6-2 and 6-1.
