Box Score AMERICUS, Ga. – No. 15 (Campbell's/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College defeated Georgia Southwestern State University 6-3 in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Friday afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.

Flagler snapped its two-match losing streak and improved to 4-5 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt. Georgia Southwestern fell to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

Flagler started the day with a pair of wins in doubles play. Rachel Gould (Toronto, Ontario, Vaughan Road Academy) and Barbora Sebkova (Prague, Czech Republic, Gymnázium a Sportovní gymnázium Prípotocní) rolled to an 8-2 win over Carly Cangelosi and Ginny Jones at No. 1. Veronica Figueroa (Orlando, Fla., Cypress Creek HS) and Jennifer Saviano (Davie, Fla., St. Thomas Aquinas HS) triumphed over Mollie McGowan and Victoria Ondo 8-1 at No. 2.

Flagler took the first four singles matches in straight sets as well. Figueroa defeated Cangelosi at No. 1 (6-2 and 6-0). Saviano won her match at No. 2 over Kalie Douberly by the same scores. Sebkova cruised past McGowan at No. 3 (6-2 and 6-1). Gould won 6-0 and 6-0 over Ondo at No. 4. 

Flagler hosts No. 7 Columbus State in a Peach Belt Conference match at 1 p.m. on Sunday (Mar. 11) at the Flagler Tennis Center.
